We Know First Visits Can Feel Awkward

Walking into a new church takes courage, especially when you don't know what to expect. So here's the honest version — no church marketing, just the truth about what a Sunday at New Life Hutto actually looks like.

When You Arrive

Parking

Free parking is available in front of the building at 623 W Front St, Suite 1800, Hutto, TX 78634. Look for the New Life Hutto sign at Suite 1800.

What to Wear

There is no dress code. Some people wear dress clothes, some wear jeans and sneakers. Wear whatever you're comfortable in. We genuinely do not care about your outfit — we care about you being here.

When to Show Up

Sunday worship starts at 11:00 AM. Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to find a seat and settle in, but if you walk in after we've started, that's fine too. Tuesday Bible Study starts at 7:00 PM.

During the Service

Worship

We worship with our whole hearts. Our music is a mix of contemporary and traditional songs, and the style is expressive — you may see people lifting their hands, clapping, praying out loud, or speaking in tongues. It might feel unfamiliar if you haven't experienced Pentecostal worship before, but nobody will pressure you to participate in any way you're not comfortable with. You're welcome to simply sit and observe.

The Message

Pastor Bernhard teaches directly from the Bible with practical application for everyday life. Messages are rooted in Apostolic truth — the Oneness of God, salvation through Acts 2:38, and living by the power of the Holy Ghost. Expect the teaching to be real and relevant, not abstract theology.

How Long Is It?

Sunday services typically last 60-90 minutes. Sometimes the Holy Spirit moves in a special way and we go a little longer — we don't put God on a clock. Tuesday Bible Study is usually about 60 minutes.

Kids

Children are welcome in our services. As a small church, our kids worship alongside the adults rather than in a separate program. Many families love this — kids grow up seeing real worship, real prayer, and real encounters with God firsthand.

Language

Our services are bilingual — we worship in both English and Spanish. You'll feel at home regardless of which language you're most comfortable in.

After the Service

Since we're small, you'll probably get to meet just about everyone. People will introduce themselves, ask your name, and genuinely want to know you — not because they have to, but because that's who we are. Nobody will strong-arm you into signing up for anything.

If you want to learn more or have questions about what you experienced, Pastor Bernhard is always available after the service. He loves talking to new visitors.

Common Questions

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable. Jeans, dress clothes, shorts in the summer — it's all good.

Will I be put on the spot?

No. We won't ask you to stand up, introduce yourself to the room, or do anything that makes first-timers uncomfortable. You can be as visible or invisible as you want.

What does "Apostolic Pentecostal" mean?

It means we follow the beliefs and practices of the early church in the book of Acts. We believe in one God (not a trinity), baptism by immersion in Jesus' name, and receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Read more about what we believe.

Do you take an offering?

Yes, during Sunday service. As a visitor, you are absolutely not expected to give. This is for our regular members.

Can I just visit without committing to anything?

Of course. Visit once, visit five times, ask questions, take your time. There is zero pressure to join anything.

Ready to Visit?

Now you know what to expect. The only thing left is to come see for yourself.
